Before diving into the update files, let's clarify the product. Sonic Mania originally launched as a digital-only title. Sonic Mania Plus is both a physical re-release and a paid DLC upgrade. Download the correct files: Place your Base Sonic
- Download the correct files: Place your
Base Sonic Mania [0100CA000E8FE000][v0].nsp, theUpdate [v65536].nsp, and theUnlocker.nspinto a folder on your computer. - Transfer to SD Card: Use USB install (via DBI or TinWoo) rather than copying to SD first to avoid FAT32 file size limits.
- Install in Order: Using a title installer (DBI, TinWoo, Awoo), install the Base Game first. If you already have it installed, skip this step.
- Install the Update NSP: This will patch your existing game to 1.04. Do not delete your save data; it remains intact.
- Install the Unlocker NSP: This is the smallest file but the most crucial. Without it, the game will still show as "Sonic Mania" and ask you to buy the Plus upgrade from the eShop.
