  Playing as Rome (West or East)

  1. Economy is King: You cannot afford full stacks of Comitatenses. Disband units you don't need. Use Limitanei for public order in safe cities.
  2. The Saxon/Frank Threat: The Western Empire will be invaded by ships. Keep a mobile navy or a stack of Plumbatarii near the English Channel coast.
  3. Religious Purges: Convert your generals to the dominant religion of your empire. Use priests/imams to convert regions. Unrest is more dangerous than enemy armies.
