To reset the BIOS password on a Panasonic Toughbook CF-53, you must use a hardware EEPROM programmer to dump, patch, and reinstall the BIOS firmware.

4.2 Linux Installation (Ubuntu/Debian)
- No special BIOS settings required beyond USB boot priority.
- Use
nomodesetkernel parameter during installation if graphics glitch. - Install
panasonic-laptopkernel module for extra function keys.
- Remove the Battery: Slide the battery release latch and remove the main battery pack.
- Remove the Covers: On the bottom of the unit, remove the two screw covers (often rubber or plastic caps) and unscrew the covers for the RAM/HDD area and the PCI area. Remove the covers themselves.
- Remove Peripherals: Remove the Hard Drive (HDD/SSD) and RAM modules (if necessary for clearance).
- Keyboard Removal:
- Power on the CF-53. Let it show the challenge code.
- On another PC, run the generator (often a simple DOS or Python script).
- Enter the challenge code → get a 12-character master password.
- Type that password into the locked CF-53.
- Press
Ctrl+Enter(not justEnter). - BIOS unlocks. You can now clear or disable the password.
