Case C – Edit NVRAM file on PC
- Extract NVRAM partition via SP Flash Tool.
- Open in HxD – locate IMEI at offset
0x048000(varies by firmware). - Hex edit IMEI (15 digits BCD). Recalculate checksum at offset
0x048000– last 2 bytes.
- Restore original
NVRAM.binif backed up. - Otherwise, use SN Writer with correct APDB/BPDB files (extracted from firmware).
- As last resort, manually hex-edit IMEI and recalc checksum (risky, not recommended).
When you might need the NVRAM file
- Restoring network functionality after a corrupted or mismatched firmware flash.
- Recovering correct IMEI, baseband, Wi‑Fi or Bluetooth MAC entries after accidental erasure.
- Migrating device-specific calibrations when swapping certain hardware modules (advanced; usually not recommended).
- Forensics or repair work by experienced technicians.
- Install the MTK USB COM Port driver (use
MTK_Driver_Auto_Installer). - Turn off your phone. Open Maui META ver 9.1724 or newer.
- Select
MT6768from the chipset dropdown. - Click "Reconnect" – immediately connect the USB cable.
- The phone enters META mode. Go to
IMEI Download/NVRAM Database. - Load the
BPLGUInfoCustomAppSrcP(from your stock ROM). - Write both IMEI numbers.
- Go to
Wi-Fi/BT Addressand restore factory MACs. - Disconnect and reboot.
