• The VHF radio’s speaker volume (this only affects the VHF speaker, not the UI7).
• Your external marine amplifier’s volume control.
• Some Icom radios (IC-M605/803) can adjust line-out level via a menu setting called “EXTERNAL AUDIO LEVEL.”

• Press the MONI button to check the squelch.
• Tune into a local FM broadcast radio station to verify the receiver is functioning.
• Key up on a simplex frequency (with a dummy load or a tuned antenna) and verify the power output meter shows appropriate RF power.
