Method 2: Manual update (if Garmin Express fails)

  1. Go to garmin.com/support
  2. Search for your exact model number (e.g., “nüvi 45”).
  3. Download the latest Software Update file (.gcd or .exe).
  4. Extract the file to your computer.
  5. Connect your Garmin and locate its drive (e.g., G:\).
  6. Copy the update file to the Garmin folder on the device.
  7. Safely eject and restart the Garmin – it will install automatically.
