F1 2020 Mod 2003 [upd] «COMPLETE ⟶»
1. Overview
- Base Game: F1 2020 (Codemasters)
- Mod Name: Typically referred to as F1 2020 2003 Season Mod or F1 2003 Retro Mod
- Purpose: Replaces the 2020 cars, drivers, liveries, helmets, and sometimes UI with those from the 2003 F1 season.
- Why 2003? Considered a classic season with V10 engines, iconic liveries (Ferrari, Williams, McLaren, Renault), close title fight (Schumacher vs. Montoya vs. Räikkönen), and no hybrid or DRS.
Replaces all 10 teams with their 2003 counterparts, including: (Schumacher/Barrichello) BMW Williams (Montoya/R. Schumacher) McLaren-Mercedes (Räikkönen/Coulthard) (Alonso/Trulli) Aesthetic Overhaul:
1. Full Grid Liveries (10 Teams, 20 Drivers)
The mod replaces the 2020 hybrid cars with the 2003 grid: F1 2020 Mod 2003
- Traction: Minimal. You cannot slam the throttle in 2nd gear like a 2020 car. You will spin.
- Braking: Longer braking distances. No brake-by-wire assistance.
- Top Speed: Because of the lower drag (no DRS) and higher horsepower, you’ll hit higher trap speeds at Monza than the 2020 hybrids, but with much less cornering grip.
Handling Physics: Driving feels distinct and "nimble," aiming to capture the lighter, high-revving nature of early 2000s V10 cars. Base Game: F1 2020 (Codemasters) Mod Name: Typically
Classic Points System: The mod reflects the older scoring format where only the top eight finishers earned points. Installation & Technical Details Replaces all 10 teams with their 2003 counterparts,
