Part 4: How to Hard Reset the AHB-8204 HNN (No Password Needed)

If the super passwords do not work, do not panic. This DVR has a physical reset mechanism that will erase all settings, including the password, returning the device to its factory state. To reset the admin password for a generic H

1. Power down the DVR completely. Unplug the power adapter.
2. Open the case by removing the screws on the bottom or back panel.
3. Locate the CMOS battery (a small silver coin cell battery, usually CR2032) and the CLR_CMOS jumper (a small plastic cap covering two or three pins). This is often near the main processor or battery.
4. Remove the CMOS battery for 30 seconds. While the battery is out, use a metal paperclip to short the positive and negative terminals in the battery holder for 5 seconds. This drains residual charge.
5. Move the jumper: If you see a 3-pin jumper with a cap on pins 1-2, move the cap to pins 2-3 for 10 seconds, then move it back to 1-2.
6. Reassemble the DVR, reconnect power, and connect to a monitor.
7. Upon boot, the DVR will prompt for Initial Setup. The password will now be blank or the default (admin / 12345).
