Step 3: Check the Turbo Actuator

  1. Locate the vacuum capsule on the turbocharger itself (a metal can with a rod coming out of it).
  2. Apply a vacuum pump (or suck carefully by mouth) to the hose nipple on this capsule.
  3. Watch the rod. It should move in and out smoothly as you apply and release vacuum.
