⚠️ Important Note for 2021:
The Aruba IAP-205 (JW797A) is a legacy 802.11ac Wave 1 device. In 2021, HPE Aruba moved this model to Limited Support and later to End of Support (EOS). The last recommended stable firmware for this model is from the Aruba Instant 8.6.x or 8.10.x train (8.10 was the final long-term support for this platform).
Ensure you select the "Instant" (IAP) version, not the controller-based (AP) version, as they are not interchangeable. How to Perform the Upgrade aruba iap 205 firmware 2021

During 2021, the Aruba IAP-205 (an 802.11ac Wave 1 access point) was in the "End of Support" transition phase. While Aruba had stopped selling the unit, they were still releasing critical security patches for the 8.5.x and early 8.6.x software branches. Consult the Aruba Instant OS 8
For the IAP-205, the primary software branch is ArubaOS 6.5.x.x. This hardware reached its software development limit around this point, making the 2021 releases some of the most stable "end-of-life" versions available.
