Report: Aerosoft CRJ Series for FSX – Current Status & Update Overview

Vertical Profile: Addressed VNAV issues that incorrectly handled "above" altitude constraints as "at" constraints during descent.

• 32-bit Architecture: FSX is 32-bit. This means the CRJ is limited to 4GB of VAS. If you add heavy scenery add-ons, you will likely experience "Out of Memory" (OOM) crashes. This is a platform limitation, not a CRJ bug.
• FSX vs. FSX:Steam Edition: The Aerosoft installer generally detects both versions automatically. The Steam Edition is preferred as it handles memory slightly better than the boxed Acceleration/Gold editions.
• Windows 10/11 Compatibility: The latest installer downloads are fully compatible with Windows 10 and 11. Older boxed DVD versions may require running the installer in "Compatibility Mode" for Windows 7.

If you use DX10 Preview mode in FSX, you need Steve’s DX10 Fixer. Without it, the updated CRJ will display black squares in the VC. The latest Aerosoft patch includes partial DX10 compatibility, but the fixer is mandatory for shadows.
